Anzac biscuits

ingredients  

• 2 cups rolled oats
• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups coconut
• 1 and half cups sugar
• 250g butter
• 4 tbsp golden syrup
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 2 tbsp boiling water

equipment

• tray
• tbsp
• tsp
• sauce pan
• cups
• big mixing bowl
• fork

method

1. put oven to 160'c
2. put oats,flour,coconut,sugar in bowl
3. melt butter and golden syrup in sauce pan
4. mix baking soda and boiling water add to melted butter and syrup pour it in to big bowl mix well
5. roll spoons-full of mixture into balls 5cm apart.Press lightly with fork
6. bake for 20 mins
7. let it cool down
8. enjoy your biscuit

The Great Kiwi

Introduction

The kiwi is more related to emu than the moa.it relies on smell and touch not sight. There are 3 species of kiwi but there are subspecies of the brown kiwi called rowi and tokoeka. The scientific name is apteryx australis. Kiwi belong to a group of birds called ratites.                   

Appearance     

Did you know that the female kiwi is bigger than the male? The male is the size of a chicken (adult), the female is slightly bigger than the male kiwi. There is a one called great spotted kiwi that is the largest of them all measuring at 45cm high and weighing 3.3kg. It has a beak that is 15 cm long. Here is another fact, it can’t fly.

Habitat

Kiwi like to live in wetlands because it's like a fortress. Kiwis are very adaptable, they can live in: bushes, mangroves, forest, scrub, sand dunes. All Kiwis nest in a hole called a burrow, that is like a rabbit burrow.

Diet
Kiwis prey is: small invertebrates such as cicadas, locusts, maggots, crickets, worms, small grubs and fruit. Kiwis use their beak to pick up their food. Kiwi get 85% of their water from their food.

Predators

Kiwi predators include: fox, cat, dog, rats, ferrets, weasels, stoats and also possums. Kiwis can run at a maximum speed of 19 km per hour, this helps them escape. They have brown or white to camouflage into the background. It is probably the stinkiest bird ever.

Life-cycle

Kiwi can live for 20-50 years unless it is eaten by a predator. If a kiwi is in the wild 95% of the kiwi are killed before breeding. Male sits on the enormous egg for 65-85 days!

hello my name is keiron I'm going to tell you how to make a new friend.

Making a friend is important if you don,t you'll be lonely.


The first step is to get to know Them.

second step is to show them around.

third step see what makes them happy.

fourth step ask them if they want to play.

fifth step ask them over to your house.

sixth step see what they like to eat.


Your new friend will hopefully come to your birth day party ,they will also play with you.

cross country run

At the start I saw allot of people in front of me running as fast as they can,trying to win.I felt like giving up but I didn't,I kept running.I was tired on the final lap.I went in the disgusting muddy puddle.My feet was as muddy as the puddle was.at the end I had to mini tekirikiri bars ,they  were Delicious I also had a scone it tasted funny I thought it was apple pie at first because it didn't have a sign. The dirty muddy floor was  sticking to my feet,I could hardly move.I also had a packet of hot chips.

Whistless

Whistles could not  whistle!So he asked for help.First he asked Bird.He saw him whistle alot so he asked.He done his best so whistle a song then whistles done a song he squeaked a song.How would you like if you could not sing a song?

       

        He listened &listened when suddenly...he said"I give up!"He went  to these other destinations:Rail way,man in the shower,police man/traffic controller,little girl,elephant and tiger(who tried to eat him.)He went to the road and done a sob then he had a idea he went over to the police man/traffic controller and stole his whistle (who I mentioned earlier on in the story)He went to all the other previous destinations .Every one hid from him though.so he gave him the whistle back.

then he got so angry that he flew out of the atmosphere and came down to the ground and while he done this he tried to whistle. He could now whistle he was so happy he told every body else in the story.The other birds started to hang out with him.
